One challenge was finding the eight required yellow birch legs with base flares that were straight enough to work on these tall cases.
Here's a breakfast table with yellow birch tripod legs. The top is 42" hexagonal and made up of quarter-sawn white oak. This piece is currently on display at the Lake Placid Lodge, where we would go all the time if we were rich.
Coffee table, 28 W x 48" L. A sure conversation piece. Beautiful clear curly maple top, which by the way will withstand the drips and spills of typical family living. We have another coffee table in the pipeline, which will have a dark stained curly maple top. Watch this site for its debut.
Here's a little root base table that would work perfectly in a foyer or hall. This is an example of a yellow birch that took root over a fallen log. Can you envision the rotten log that the roots were grasping? This piece has a striking cherry top with hand-carved edges. The apron is veneered with birchbark and cherry burl. |
